I was thinking similarly of doing some sort of screen topped paludarium or vivarium with appropriate finches optop. Pretty big by inddor standards. A foot print of 7'x3'x3' (lxwxh) for the aviary portion ontop of a 18" deep rimless with the same footprint. just great to see people pushing boundaries.

A lot of people keep saying the bird needs it's talons trimmed. Now, I don't know much of anything about keeping a pet bird, but that seems way easier said than done. Cool paludarium though. You did a fantastic job. What is the maintenance like?
